Kierownik Katedry Ekonomii 1 w Szkole Głównej Handlowej w Warszawie, z którą związany jest od 1984. Wykłada makroekonomię, ekonomię emerytalną, ekonomię pracy, ekonomię ludnościową, ekonomię zdrowia oraz politykę gospodarczą i społeczną; dawniej ekonometrię i prognozowanie. W trakcie kariery zawodowej prowadził badania w London School of Economics, Erasmus University Rotterdam, Ifo Institute for Economic Research (Munich).
W latach 1990-1997 był członkiem Executive Committee of European Association of Labour Economists. W latach 1992-1993 pracował w Directorate for Education Labour and Social Affairs (OECD). Jest autorem wielu polskich i zagranicznych publikacji, głównie z zakresu ekonomii pracy i ekonomii emerytalnej. Jest współautorem projektu polskiego systemu emerytalnego wprowadzonego w Polsce w 1999. W różnych okresach doradzał w sprawach emerytalnych rządom i innym instytucjom w Polsce i za granicą. W 2014 wspólnie z grupą współpracowników założył Polską Grupę Emerytalną (PPG) zajmującą się szeroko rozumianymi badaniami i doradztwem w zakresie problematyki emerytalnej.

WARSAW SCHOOL OF ECONOMICS
Head of the Department of Economics 1 at the Warsaw School of Economics, with which he has been associated since 1984. He teaches macro-economics, pension economics, labor economics, population economics, health economics, and economic and social policy; formerly econometrics and forecasting. During his profes-sional career, he conducted research at the London School of Economics, Erasmus University Rotterdam, Ifo Institute for Economic Research (Munich).
Between the years 1990 and 1997 he was a member of the Executive Committee of the European Association of Labor Economists. In 1992-1993 he worked at the Directorate for Education Labor and Social Affairs (OECD). He is the author of numerous Polish and foreign publications, mainly in the field of labor and pension economics. He is the co-author of the project of the Polish pension system introduced in Poland in 1999. At various times he has advised governments and other institutions in Poland and abroad on pensions. In 2014, together with a group of associates, he founded the Polish Pension Group (PPG) dealing with broadly understood research and consulting in the field of pension issues.

Ekonomista, profesor dr hab., Katedra Pracy i Polityki Społecznej w Uniwersytecie Ekonomicznym w Poznaniu. Zajmuje się ekonomią polityki społecznej, w tym zwłaszcza zabezpieczeniem emerytalnym, rynkiem pracy, edukacją, migracjami, polityką społeczną w Unii Europejskiej.
W latach 2008-2016 prorektor ds. nauki i współpracy z zagranicą, w latach 2016-2024 rektor Uniwersytetu Ekonomicznego w Poznaniu.
Prowadził badania naukowe za granicą, m. in. w London School of Economics, Nottingham Trent University, Uniwersytecie Ekonomicznym w Wiedniu. Stypendysta Fundacji im. Alexandra von Humboldta w Centrum Polityki Społecznej Uniwersytetu w Bremie.
Członek Komitetu Nauk o Pracy i Polityce Społecznej Polskiej Akademii Nauk.

Research abroad included, inter alia, London School of Economics and Political Science, Nottingham Trent University, Vienna University of Economics and Business. Scholar of the and Alexander-von-Humboldt-Foundation at the Centre for Social Policy Research at the University of Bremen, Germany.

Francesco Briganti is the Secretary General of the Cross Border Benefits Alliance – Europe (CBBA-Europe), an EU advocacy association that promotes the creation of cross border and pan-European social benefits solutions (including occupational/workplace and personal pensions). Francesco is also the CEO of the Employee Benefits and Welfare Institute (EBWI), a Belgian public affairs company, and a member of the Stakeholders Group on Occupational Pensions (OPSG) of the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA). Additionally, Francesco set up and currently chairs both the Italian and the Belgian/EU branch of the International Employee Benefits Association (IEBA).Between June 2016 and 2018, Francesco was the Coordinator of the World Pension Alliance (WPA), a platform of the main worldwide private pensions advocacy organizations.
Prior to this, Francesco was the Director of the European Association of Paritarian Institutions of Social Protection (AEIP) - an EU advocacy organization representing 1,200 employee benefits providers.
Francesco has a law degree from the University of Bologna (Italy); a Master’s degree in International Political Economy at the University of Kent (UK); and a Ph.D in EU social and labor law at the University Foundation Marco Biagi in Modena (Italy) and the Catholic University of Leuven (Belgium) as co-tutor.
His academic research focused on the creation of a pan-European Occupational (Workplace) Pension.
As an expert, he has been for several years a member of the European Commission’s Pension Forum and he has been speaking at more than 300 public events all over the world.
