Prof. dr hab. MAREK GÓRA

SGH Warsaw School of Economics

Head of the Department of Economics 1 at the Warsaw School of Economics, with which he has been associated since 1984. He teaches macroeconomics, pension economics, labor economics, population economics, health economics, and economic and social policy; formerly econometrics and forecasting. During his professional career, he conducted research at the London School of Economics, Erasmus University Rotterdam, Ifo Institute for Economic Research (Munich).

Between the years 1990 and 1997 he was a member of the Executive Committee of the European Association of Labor Economists. In 1992-1993 he worked at the Directorate for Education Labor and Social Affairs (OECD). He is the author of numerous Polish and foreign publications, mainly in the field of labor and pension economics. He is the co-author of the project of the Polish pension system introduced in Poland in 1999. At various times he has advised governments and other institutions in Poland and abroad on pensions. In 2014, together with a group of associates, he founded the Polish Pension Group (PPG) dealing with broadly understood research and consulting in the field of pension issues.

Dr hab. MARCIN KAWIŃSKI

prof. SGH, Deputy Commissioner for Financial Ombudsman

He holds a postdoctoral degree (habilitation) in economic sciences and is a professor at the Warsaw School of Economics (SGH). He heads the Department of Social Insurance at the university. He coordinates the work of numerous research teams on projects concerning financial markets, particularly the insurance and pension sectors. He is the author of many publications in these fields and the editor-in-chief of the scientific quarterly "Social Insurance. Theory and Practice" (Ubezpieczenia Społeczne. Teoria i Praktyka).

He has previously collaborated with the Office of the Financial Ombudsman. He also served as an arbitrator at the Court of Arbitration at the Polish Financial Supervision Authority (KNF).

He has extensive experience in international activities. He has sat on advisory and opinion-forming bodies at the European Commission, including FIN-NET, a network of national organizations responsible for the out-of-court settlement of consumer disputes in the financial services sector. He was also involved in the work of FIN-USE, the forum of financial services users, and FSUG, the Financial Services User Group, whose task is to present the perspective of users of financial services in the process of creating and implementing EU financial policy.

He has also cooperated with European organizations supporting EIOPA (the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority). He participated in the work of, among others, BSA – the Banking Stakeholder Group, IRSG – the Insurance and Reinsurance Stakeholder Group, and OPSG – the Occupational Pensions Stakeholder Group.

Prof. dr  hab. PIOTR SZUKALSKI

University of Lodz

Piotr Szukalski is associate professor at the University of Lodz, Lodz, Poland. His research interests are in population ageing, family care-giving, older adults activities, ageism, intergenerational relations, regional demography. He has published over 250 articles and chapters related to social gerontology, demography, intergenerational relations and family issues.

He is member of Committee on Demographic Studies (2008-), Polish Academy of Sciences, and Committee on Forecasting, Polish Academy of Sciences (2008-). He is also member of the National Council for Development at the President of the Republic of Poland (2016-), and was member of the Governmental Council for Population Policy at the Polish Prime Minister (2018-2024, Vice-chairman, 2019-2024), and the Council for Senior Policy at the Polish Minister of Family and Social Policy (2016-2024, Vice-chairman, 2020-2024).

Piotr Szukalski is associate professor at the University of Lodz, Lodz, Poland. His research interests are in population ageing, family care-giving, older adults activities, ageism, intergenerational relations, regional demography. He has published over 250 articles and chapters related to social gerontology, demography, intergenerational relations and family issues.

Prof. dr hab. MACIEJ ŻUKOWSKI

POZNAŃ UNIVERSITY OF ECONOMICS AND BUSINESS

Economist, professor in the Department of Labour and Social Policy at the Poznań University of Economics and Business in Poland.

Research areas: public economics, social security, pensions, labour market, international migration, education, European integration.

Vice-rector for research and international relations 2008-2016, 2016-2024 rector of the Poznań University of Economics and Business.

Research abroad included, inter alia, London School of Economics and Political Science, Nottingham Trent University, Vienna University of Economics and Business. Scholar of the Alexander-von-Humboldt-Foundation at the Centre for Social Policy Research at the University of Bremen, Germany.

Member of the Committee on Labour and Social Policy Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

Prof. SILKE MICHALK

Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg

Prof. Dr. phil. Silke Michalk is Professor of General Business Administration, specialising in Human Resource Management and Management Theory, at the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg. Her academic and practice-oriented research focuses on human resource management, management theory, organisational development, workplace health promotion, worklife balance, diversity management, academic continuing education, lifelong learning and digital learning formats. In addition, she addresses issues relating to the demand for skilled workers and managers, human resource development, quality assurance in academic continuing education, and the design of organisational change processes.

Prof. Dr Michalk completed her PhD on the topic of "Applied Organisational Development in Medium-Sized Enterprises" and, prior to her professorship, was a research assistant at the Institute for Human Resource Management at Helmut Schmidt University/University of the Federal Armed Forces in Hamburg. At the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg, in addition to research and teaching, she performs various academic management and self-governing roles, including as academic director of the Centre for Academic Continuing Education. Her publications include monographs, edited volumes, contributions to anthologies, and essays on human resource management, organisational development, leadership, workplace health management, academic continuing education, and digitally supported continuing education platforms.

She is also active as a visiting professor at international universities, including the University of Riga, Saratov State University, Peter the Great St. Petersburg University in the USSR, Shanghai Second Polytechnic University in China and the University of the Free State in South Africa.
